I'm on my way !!!!!!!!

Hi Everybody !!!! I just got confirmation that my updated Aetna policy DOES make provisions for WLS !!!!!! Has anyone out there have Aetna? And, has anyone used Dr. Cooperstone? I already went to his seminar; now I'm in the process of scheduling the necessary tests!!!!!!! I'm on my way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hugs Karen J

Hi, I have Aetna. They are very strict about the 6 month supervised weight loss documentation, so if I were you, I would start that immediately. It has to be consecutive months, too, unless you have a 6 yr. history with your PCP and he made note of your weight loss struggle. If you have a BMI as low as 35, then it must be accompanied with at least 2 comorbities like Diabetes, sleep apnes, high BP etc. Just follow their rules and you should be fine. I actually printed them on line from their site. If you get all of your tests out of the way, then you are looking at surgery in 6 months. It goes by fast and gives you time to really think about the journey that you are about to take. I'm having my insurance papers submitted next week. YIKES. Good Luck to you. Diane
