Burning Insurance Question

I am so happy!!! I just got my letter of approval for my gastric bypass!!! YEAH! I could not even sleep last night I was so jazzed!!! Anyway on the letter of approval it has effective dates in the upper right hand corner. It says April 2-5 2007. Are those my surgury dates? Or does anyone know what that means? I have Excellu BC/BS. Any info would be helpful. Thanks

That's a definite possibility. Call your surgeon's office and make sure they got a copy of the letter and mention the dates. Good luck to you. Joanne

Congrat's on the approval. My doctor gave the insurance company (Excellus BC\BS) a pretend date of 2/20 when they sent my information in. When I got the approval letter last week the date on mine was 2/20/07 to 2/23/07. I do have mine scheduled for the 20th so maybe your doctor did the same for you! Good Luck I know it is a long journey and will be worth it.

Those are tentative "hold" dates. My letter said September 28-30 but my surgery was 10/4, so it's just an insurance date. GO by what your surgeon's office schedules. CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
