Hello everyone, its been a while since my last post but I'm glad I made it back. Its been a year and a half since my since my surgery (08/05) and I have lost a total of 80lbs, my lowest weight being 150lbs, but since thanksgiving 2006 I find myself eating things that i shouldnt be eating and falling back into my old habits...its scary, since november i have gained between 10-13lbs. I now weight 162. I don't know what to do, but i do know that i dont want to end up the way i was before...I've made up my mind and am going to start going to the gym again and will stay away from breads, pasta, and rice. I am also scheduled for a tummytuck May 2007 but I want to be at my goal weight of 145 before I do. Could this be possible? I want to know, and maybe someone can help...what should I do to get the weight coming off again? I need to break this plataeu. Is anyone experiencing the same thing? Please let me know...Thanks in advance JT 230/162/145 RNY 8/22/05

I've seen on these forums that some people that are further out that are having difficulty with their weight, have done one of 2 things to lose the weight again. The first is they go back to basics (i didn't have the same surgery as you, but you can search the forums for the "pouch rules") Others have gone and joined weigh****chers to learn how to eat again. What didn't work to them before WLS, now works because they have smaller stomachs (or pouches). From the posts I've read they have found that the weekly meetings and weigh ins help them stay accountable. Hope that this helps Scott

i know alot of times i eat out of sheer bordum so i keep sunflower seeds on hand at all times its that hand to mouth action that i was always looking for...... it takes time to get the nut out of the shell and it satisfys the crunch salt and the bordum.... also when you pick up somthing your not supposed to have say to yourself nah ill have it tomorrow and deal with it then... try not to keep the crap around the house i know if you have kids its not that easy but its not horrible for them to eat a little more healthy too...... make sure whatever it is that you eat has at least some protien in it or dont allow your self to have it ...... and drink drink drink..... and yes excersise is the number one tool and SUPPORT GROUPS ...... this board is great but live groups i usually find to be the most helpful....... i hope this helps ......... be greatful for your tool and think about the people who arent as fortunate as us to have it good luck and god bless Stacy

JT It is possible to lose the regain, or at least stop it. WLS is a great tool and for 1 yr +/- it is working harder than we have to, but the honeymoon ends for some 6 mo others 12 or others lucky at 24 mo. But the reality is it helps you developp lifestyle dietary and exercise habits to be healhty if you do not change those or work on emotional eating regain can happen yes all of it can be regained, consider myonline group ossg off track in addition to this board, its about personal accountability and awareness, although we cant do it for you we can cheer u on! I just met a lady who lost her 70# regain in 5 mo, so its doable, the time is now 10-13# is manageable be well! http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/OSSG_Off_track/ Jamie Ellis Lap RNY 10/9/2002 Dr. Singh Albany, NY 5'9'' 320 preop/275 day of surgery/163 lowest/173 current Dr. King Plastics 6/9/2004 & 11/11/2005
