is this normal?

This might soind weird or gross but I am 15 days post op and a few days after the surgery I felt this weird coating type feeling on my teeth. I thought it was from the slimfast shakes I was drinking cuz they are kind of chalky, so I quit drinking them and it's still there. No matter if I go brush my teeth, it still feels that way. It's on the back of my teeth. Anyone?

You are not weird at all...I also am 2 weeks out and I had the same thing happen but I felt it on the back of my top teeth and I could take my nail and scrape it off (YUK). I thought it was the anesthesia because I felt it when I was in the recovery room and could'nt wait to brush my teeth. I have to say it is almost gone now. Ithink as your nutrition/hydration improves it goes away. Jean

Hi Its not weird I get that alot too and I believe its from the protein shakes. Nothing to worry about. Marie

Were you given antibiotics in the hospital, if so, it could be thrush. If it lasts for a while longer (give ti a week) go to the doctor and discuss this with him/her. Be Well and welcome to the losers bench. ANDI
