Hello,
I am having some issues and my surgeon has never been good at giving me information. This has
been a big disspointment as there has been a number of issues that he has not shared with me
even after asking. He did a great job on the surgery which worked very well for me but I wish
he would answer my questions which I have only asked a handfull of times since my surgery.
Anyway I am just over six months out and have lost over eighty pounds. I am just under 200 pounds
now and very close to my ideal weight. I am 6' 1/2".
The problem I have is that my stomach seems larger for my waist and it seems "hard" when I touch
it. Also there is a protrusion about three inches above my belly button. I would like to know if
that is common or not. I really am concerned about this. My regular doctor put me on some pills
a week ago thinking I have some fluid build-up. I don't know what is going on. Has anyone had
this happen to them????????????????
I also am having a heck of a time keeping my pants up............This is a problem as well. I
do not want to wear suspenders. I don't have much of a butt I guess........any suggestions here?
Thanks a lot for your time and I hope all of you are doing great. Please get back to me if you
have time. My email is [email protected]

Hi, I am no expert, but I would suggest a physical for you, internal, upper GI, and all that stuff. I had a hernia, maybe that is your protrusion, but why guess?
Please keep me posted. As for the pants thing, I would suggest pants with an elastic back, there are dockers and such made that way, and maybe some jeans.
I assume you have insurance, if so, use the experts....
Lotsa luck!

GUESS if my surgeon wasnt hearing me and addressing my concern i would find a doctor that did care listen and advise.
I have a very careing surgeon so those matters usually
dont have to concern with.
GOOD LUCK
and i guess as far as the pants just keep
trying different styles, branks and such
till you find the fit that is most custom
to your shape.
FOR me i just discovered LEVIS 545 skinny jeans
that i love and they feel like there custom made to me.
TRUST me i have tried and bought many in the past
year i didnt like. JUST alot of trial and error till you find
the make and style thats works best for ya.
GOOD LUCK!
John -
I had a open rny and ended up with protrusion at the site where my incision was, turns out I developed a hernia ( a common complication). Actually, if this is your problem it could be a good thing if you are looking to have a tummy tuck, some insurance policy will pay for a tummy tuck if you have a hernia.
Definitely, asks your doctor(s) if this is a possiblility.
