Hi Everyone............. Can I ask, What do you guys have for different snacks throughout the day? I often get hungry in between and I just don't know what to have. Yesterday I started eating rice cakes topped with ricotta cheese. They were good. Any other suggestions? Please help.................... Marie

Hi Marie: Here's some ideas: * Raw veggies with a small amt of salad dressing *A piece of fruit and a handful of nuts *Cottage cheese and fruit *sugar free yogurt *a skim milk latte (also counts as water, plus you get calcium and protein!) *cheese sticks I load my lunch box with that stuff every day because the people I work with insist upon bringing in all kinds of crapfood and it helps me to steer away. Hope that helps. Hugs, Amy

Marie: Snacking is not encouraged but if you must keep the thought of snacking/grazing in forefront of mind.. Combine a carb w/ protein for optimal satity/fullness and evenness of bloodsugar... I think protein shakes are a great tool I use them still 4+ yrs out. A good whey shake w/ 120 cal 23 g protein 0-3g fat and 0-3g carbs is a good rule of thumb! I like PVL whey gourmet Beths has the samples www.bethsproteinboutique.com or an apple w/ cheesestick, or apple w/ peanutbutter or clelery/carrots maybe w/ a little laughing cow cheese or PB or creme cheese. Ricotta cheese w/ splenda/cocoa or PB or lemon flavoring (ricotta creme if u want recipe email me at [email protected] ) Rice cakes for me would trigger more hunger, simple carbs.. I also wonder what u r eating in day that may lead to this hunger!? Carbs for ex. R u eating a lot of crackers, potatoes, rice, pasta, bread or the like? Eat protein ancd veggies and usually hunger diminishes... rolled up sandwich deli meat and cheeses also can work....in a pinch lo carb ceral bar such as south beach...just ocassionally.... Be well. Hey you.. How r u ??? I sent u a pic of chowder this morning. He is sooooo big already and fast.. Well im ok. Im at 185-187 depending on the day so its some days a 100 pounds lost and other days 95-98 lbs lost. I have some good days and bad. I crave carbs and thats a big problem 4 me and im sure others. . How is the house and kelly??? I havent seen your postes in a while. My youngest son is home sick for the 3rd day and im going crazy ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh just a cold he has but he is so pathetic looking. I caught up with chris lynch her husband had the surgery a few years ago remember how big he was???? Well he got down like 400 pounds or maybe less and she said he is gaining again because he is drinking regular soda like crazy. Thank God I dont have that trouble, I never was a big soda drinker or fried food eater, but they say gove up one addiction 4 another. But she had a 9,000 square foot house built about 3 hours from me and invited me there. So I will make it there one day for the weekend. Alone.... Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa well hugs and kisses and love you lots love and peace roni

Hi Everyone Thanks for al the ideas. Now I can go shopping and but things I can have. Yes, I must eat in between meals. It is the only thing that sustains m e throughout the day and helps me to not feel hungry late at night. 3 meals a day isn't enough and with the snacking in between, it helps me to lose weight because I am not getting enough calories in with meals Thanks, Marie

Howdy Honey! I use this for a snack or a meal depending on how hungry i am: i take some ground turkey/beef/soy crumblies, add some serious salsa and some low fat mexican cheese blend, I microwave it until it's ooey gooey (that's a culinary technical term you know) then i scoop it up with celery, carrots or baked tortilla chips or I shove it in a carb control wrap. I use a carb control wrap, some pizza sauce and some cheese and toppings (mushrooms, onions, peppers, pineapple, canadian bacon, your pizza your choice) and i pop that in the toaster oven or microwave for a snack/meal. I eat alot of cheese sticks, beef jerky, low fat popcorn, almonds and nuts for snacks. Happy and Healthy New Year to you my friend, ANDI

thanks so much, I believe the key is to get creative with what you have this way you don't get bored! I am a snacker because i still can't get in all that i need during a meal so i space it out a bit to make my blood sugars more even. Doesn't have to be big snacks all the time but it's got to be something in order to satisfy me. I also admit that i like tofu warmed with barbecue sauce i warm that up and serve it with toothpicks and it really is lovely and pure protein. Be Well, ANDI
