Personal Trainer????

Hi all, I was wondering if anyone goes to a personal trainer and if so how successful they've been? I've recently heard about a personal trainer/chiropractor in my area that charges your medical insurance, however, the $20..00 co-payment is due each time you go. The big beneift (I think) is that he works with many bariatric patients. To think that I'd have to go at leats 3 times a week to make a strong committment and to see results, seems very expensive to me. I am down approximately 80lbs since 7/31/06. I have been EXTREMELY inconsistent when it comes to exercising. I know that it must be part of my week to continue and maintain my succes. Just curious if anyone has had results and or comments. Thanks in advance! Another though****er aerobics, has anyone tried ti? Grazie, Maryellen

Hi Maryellen If you're talking about Dr. Dan I say go for it if you can afford the $20.00 co-payment a session. He's cheaper then a trainer from the gym and he totally understands us bariatric patients and our needs. He is a total sweetheart and he's great at getting post-op patients to move! He's also very plesant on the eyes! Jane

Hi Jane, Yes, I was referring to Dr. Dan. I got a free trial card at a support group meeting but I haven't called him yet because of the hefty copayment times three times a week. Why can't they just be happy with what the insurance company will give them? Maryellen

I used a personal trainer for one year after my surgery. I toned up and I lost so much weight that first year...then she moved on and my gym didnt offer a personal trainer anymore! I would recommend to anyone to use a trainer! They really pushed me and i loved it! I would love to get the information on the trainer that you are talking about! I have been looking for one for a while! thanks Lisa
