Hi Barb,
I really do not have that much sagging skin but I'm 27. I went from 260 to (now) 105 and I'm 5'2 w/a small frame. I mean I have little bit on a belly but I also had a C-section w/my son back in 2002.

Barb -
I was very lucky I lost 140 pounds and my skin didn't sag that much. But I will be doing a lower body lift in 2 weeks....pure vanity on my behalf, not a necessity. I seen numerous doctors post surgery and they alway comment on how thin I am and how little sagging skin I have. I was very lucky. Also, I think the fact that I lost on average 15 pounds a month helped. So losing slow isn't alway a bad thing.

There probably are people after WLS who didn't have sagging skin or had minimal...BUT EXCESS SKIN IS COMMON ...my philosophy ''you fit in your skin or you don't''... Some insurance companies pay for some plastic surgeries if medically necessary (*Usually a panniculectomy or removal of tummy flap only) it may be a fight, but you can get some of it removed possibly....If though this will deter you I say the chances are great you will have some amount of excess skin, no one knows how much...Age, gender, prior diet/weight changes, pregnancies all affect this and the best chance on has to control this is (although limited) exercise, water and protein....So if this is a huge issue don't have wt loss surgery, because the excess skin issue for many can be quite psychologically challenging and many will sabotage themselves to regain wt and not have it! Sadly it happens.....Perhaps join a few PS forums/groups....Excess skin may be by far the most distressing side-effect for people as we already come with altered self-esteem/body image!!!
Some groups to ask ? and look at pics etc!

Barb,
as everyone else has said there are many factors involved in weather you will have hanging skin. I went into my surgery knowing that I would have it do to my size and my overhang before WLS. Now I have found that I have hanging skin in places I never thought I would
. This post is not meant to scare you just to let you know that one never knows how their body and skin will react after WLS.
