Anyone involved with an effective support group in Suffolk County. I had my surgery at Beth Israel in Manhattan and it's unrealistic to travel into Manhattan monthly for support meetings. Can anyone suggest a support group and identify some of the topics that are discussed in these support groups. Any information woud be wonderful. Thank You... John

Hi John! I had my surgery in May and there is a support group every second Tuesday of every month at Mercy Medical Center. There is one tomorrow night at 7 if your interested. We talk about anything that's on your mind! Hope this is helpful!

Hi JOhn, I belong to 4 different LI groups, three are open to anyone and one is only for Dr. Ahmads patients. Anyway, one is at a private house in Selden, not being offered again until January(let me know if you are interested), one is alternated between the Selden and Centereach library run by Living after WLS, and the last is at Good Samaritan Hospital in WEst Islip and no you didn't have to have your surgery there, I didn't! It meets this Saturday and every other at 9:00am. Sometimes they give out free samples, it is a very nice group, I enjoy it very much. Maryellen
