Welcome I had the lap band October 18 lost 20 before and 30 since I feel great and the surgery was not bad at all especially if you had 8 children I had one section and this was much easier You are making a great choice I am here any time you want to talk Best wishes Shelly

Hi I am new too! I live in Queens so I am kind of far but we can e-mail! my e-mail is [email protected] - I am also going for the lapband and am just a little farther along than you are. My surgery is with Dr Alan Geiss and I am going through the all the preop appts. So far I have had a Nutritionist counseling (she thinks I am ready), Psychological consult (she thinks that although I do alot of mindless eating I should do great) lung test, EKG, sleep study (I have Apnea), Thyroid test and on Dec 18th I will have an upper GI test and thats the last of them! I hope to get the surgery done at the end of January or February. I too am at peace as to what I have chosen and am ready to start to live a healthy life! We can keep each other informed and updated on our progress! I would love that! How about it? Anna

Hi, I am near you and am going thru the intake process for RNY in horseheads. This bpoard and the folks who are on it are the best friends you'll ever meet - kind, non-judgemental, really informed and great to "vent" with... Email as needed.

Well my first date to go in is on January 5th. I am so ready to start this and see myself in a better way. I am not sure as to what to expect but I feel confident and excited...I am also nervous! Thanks for all the support!
