Hi Everyone,
I know I probably shouldn't have but because of the thanksgiving holiday they had to postpone my visit with the doctor to change my food regimine... I decided to try some mashed potatoes today when my family was having their thanksgiving dinner.. Oh man was it good....a little low fat velveeta and dollup of gravy.... how much should I be able to eat at a sitting? that is all that i had. still downing my protein shakes and tons of crystal light etc....
thanks for the advice
Jenny
You should only be able to eat about three ounces or less depending how far out from surgery you are. As far as the mashed potatoes go they are a soft food that you can eat on the soft portion of your regime.
Make sure that when you eat eat very slow and also be careful of the gray (poss sugar). You should also make sure that if you try something else it should have protein. If you eat the mashed potatoes again add some unflavored protein powder so that you are getting your protein requirements in.

Thank you for the information... I am drinking a ton of protein right now... getting in about 60 protein (3 shakes) per day.... so I wasn't too concerned about the food at this point having protein... I know that when I start getting away from the protein that the food should definitely take over....
