Hey Thanks so much for the Awesome welcome all! I will tell you my life has not been easy. I got to the largest ever a few months before my Sleeve Gastrectomy in August. My heaviest weight was about 325-330 but on the day of my surgery I was 320. I had my surgery in NYC, with Dr. Subash Kini at the Mount Sinai Hospital. Everything went extremely well, save for the "swallow test" which was just barbaric if you ask me. Everything else was good. I made them keep me an extra day since I was not sure about going home 24 hrs after having such a major surgery, having 85 percent of my stomach removed. So all in all my experiences with the Doc and Staff has been EXCELLENT, the Hospital and such was Good and my only regret that I am experiencing is why didnt I do this years ago! I am loving my surgery, truly! I am only able to eat very small amounts and feel satieted. I am really never hungry, in that the feeling I get is like I am running out of fuel, its different than hunger and when I begin to eat, I fill up so quickly. If I do not pay attention, its like there is a brick in my stomach and it makes for a very uncomfortable feeling all the way up to my chest (if I try to fit one more bite in, this happens). So I guess I have a built in alarm when I need to stop, lol! So far so good. I can eat anything, since I have my pyloric valve and my intestines where not manipulated. This is good for me, because I dont mind being able to 'taste' something I know I cannot make a meal out of (ie taste a candy or taste a few licks of an icecream). I think for me this is more of a 'normal' diet. I still have to focus on Protein first, every meal. And I still have to watch anything High in Carbs, Sugar or Fat, but for the most part this has been easy. I just hope it stays that way. I have been exercising. I go to a gym 3 days per week for an hour. The last 20 mins I do weight lifting training. But all in all I love the treadmill and the stepper and that is what I really focus on. I just weighed myself today and I am 262!! Thats 58 pounds!!! I am really so happy and cant believe this is really happening to me! Glad to have met you all!!
