Nope, not being overly sensitive at all. I bounce back between a few boards, but this is one that I feel very comfortable on (this and the GLBT board). I think the main board is just sooooooooooooo busy, it's almost impossible to get on a personal level with people. And on other boards, people get comfortable with those they know and I guess it can become clickish. On a more positive note, the posters here are WONDERFUL!!! I'll tell you, as someone who lurks alot more than I post, the NYers here have made me feel welcomed and wanted Rachelle

Hi Angie, Welcome to the NY board! Hey I live in Sayville, just a few moments away from you. Are you near Lombardi's market? Isn't it awesome in there! Also, I too am a patient of Dr. Ahmad (GOD) lol I love him and SEEMA too. I was not at the meeting this week, but I was last month. Hey, maybe some of us locals could get together to exercise occasionally, how does that sound? Do you belong to a gym? Maryellen

Meredith: HELLO! Welcome, please tell us some more about yourself, I checked your profile and there is no info..What surgery are you choosing? How long have you been researching? How are you preparing for this journey? How can we support you? Any questions???? Hi J Catlady5 I am going for the Gastric Bypass, which I decided as a "last resort" back in July. Mentally I am ready, and am preparing physically with all the pre-op testing. I have already completeted my nutritionist visit, phsycologist visit, sonograms of my stomach, and lower body, bloodwork, the pulmonogist cleared me without further testing, and the cardiologist just cleared me today after an ekg, echo, and a stress test, I also was required to attend two information seminars at my surgeans office. So all I have is 3 more visits with my primary care physician ( a total of 6) and I'm ready to submit the request to my insurance. Preparing for this "journey" is definetely an understatement, I don't think I've worked for anything so hard in my life. Besides the fact that it was really hard for me to even allow myself to consider the surgery. I have always been big, but I broke my foot a year ago and things just got worse from there. My foot is very sensitive and it makes it difficult to do daily activities none the less exercise. But after many diet attempts with limited sucess (because physical activity was limited) I decided I had enough and need help. My biggest fear is going through all of the pre-op stuff and not being approved. Any advise on that?

Angie: HI! i havent ever beenon the main board, but I suggest or I recommend thinking about posting your concerns difrectly to the OH MAIN BOARD, No one can know how you feel or even change w/o feeback. If after making your concerns known and nothing changes then you have ability to make a choice to stay or go, it is my experience many times that others cannot read our minds and sometimes being clear and direct is the most helpful thing. Larger boards can get busy and things overlooked, I have been around 4 yrs+ and at one point on 30 yahoo groups! I now run several and it is challenging to make sure everyone gets answered, it is usually unintentional. Be well. Angie you better be careful around those bandsters they can be a tough bunch! I've been on OH for just about a year now and I have tried the different forums and without a doubt the usual group here are very, very friendly and supportive! Any time day or night someone here will hear your pain/concerns and they jump right in to help you out. I have posted a handfull of times on the Lap Band forum and yes they just are not the same for some reason? Ut-oh I think I just let the cat out of the bag? Actually, I am one of the bandsters that Tavia mentioned we are all here for you my sister bandster! WELCOME Kenny
