port question

Hi everyone, I am just two weeks out and have had a question. My port incision, (just above the scar) it a little irritated. looks a tiny bit pink/red and is sensitive to the touch. I know the doctor did more work at that incision because he stiched the port in place. Is this irritation normal? I appreciate any input...Thanks

Hey Angie although I don't hold a medical degree I'd say it is probably normal and not to be too concerned. However when in doubt call your physician. I had my band on 1/25/06 and I never felt the port as I was too flabby. Well after I had lost the first 30-40 lbs I was having my anual physical at work. The company doctor found a lump and he sent me directly to my doctor. Scared to death thinking he found a tumor I went right in to see my doctor and when he felt that nasty lump he chuckled, you might of guessed, it was in fact my port! It was quite a relief and quite funny. Keep us posted! Kenny

Hi Kenny, Thanks for your input. I can actually feel the port as well. It is feeling a little bit better today. I think my shirt is rubbing against it and that's not helping! I've also noticed the other tiny incisions are also red, but so much smaller, they dont feel sensitive. I have an appointment on Tuesday with my doctor I'm sure it will be okay. Just a lil nervous!
