Anita,
I am not sure what kind of calcium oyster shell is but I do know we need Citrate, Twinlab makes a great chewable and also Bariatric Advantage makes a good Citrate that is also chewable.
Have you had your blood done lately? How was your calcium levels? Also on that protein shake, if you need to get the protein then that is a good way but if you are eating and getting enough protein that is good as well.
You can always ask your surgeon what he/she thinks!

Hi Debra,
I will go buy some Citrate. I was buying the Dollar General brand for calcium.
where do they sell the Twinlab? Walmart? .how about the brand Viactiv? any good for us? yes i just had my blood work done at the end of October and i sent the copy to my surgeon. everything looked great. about the protein shake it seems like we have to eat alot just to get our protein in but i dont want to overeat. you know what i mean??

Anita,
You can do a search on the internet to see where they sell the Twinlab stuff, I get it at Drugstore.com but I am sure other places carry it but I have not seen it in any stores yet. Viactive is Carbonate, we really need Citrate hun but it will do for a bit if needed. I was using that at the beginning myself.
