THE best protein shake

I am about the pickiest person when it comes to taste.. especially diet anything.. i could never stomach it... I'm like every other person on here.. I've tried a whole bunch of the protein shakes etc and just couldn't do it.. I was really starting to get concerned for my surgery is at the end of next week (hopefully... that's another story).. Someone told me about hank's finest protein so I went to their website and ordered their free samples.... I have my chocolate sample and I mixed it with skim milk, banana and ice and blended it up in my handy dandy magic bullet and on my goodness.... It is soooooo wonderful. My hubby (who is the biggest non-liker of anything protein etc) ended up drinking half of it cuz he just wanted another little sip.... It is a little bit expense but I figure that I am not going to be eating anything so I'd rather spend the money on something that I know that I am going to like. Thought that I would just pass this info on... Jenny surgery date Nov 17, 2006

Hi Jenny Don;t worry about what you like and don't like before surgery because after surgery, a lot of your tastes changes. What you don't like now, you may like later. Don't fret, you'll find something. Marie

Jenny: Glad you are finding something you like, I agree w/ others donot buy a lot as after surgery tastes can change. I also offer a caution: Shakes made w/ milk, fruit etc are added calories, and sugar whish can slow wt loss, cause cravings. Looking to find a powder mixed w/ water/ice and perhaps sugar free syrups (Davinics has a banana flavored one!*among the 50 or so they have!) or some sf/ff pudding powder (1-2 tsp in a shake) or such as better options postop. Again just a recommendation, early on calories aren't a huge issue but later on they can be and so can sugar cravings from milk or bananas which are high on Glycemic Index. Also some are lactose intolerant postop or DUMP from milk (irregardless of fat content all milk has 12-13g sugar in it a cup). Maybe try shalke w/ 1/2 milk and less banana and gradually get used to it w/ waterice and sf syrup a gradual process! WINK! Thanks, for the tip, Jenny. I haven't found one yet that I like! But... I want the other story... what do you mean HOPEFULLY your surgery is next week? What's up? Traci

Hi Traci, I found out a few days ago that my insurance company does not have to have preauthorization (i thought this was great)... they are skeptical at the doc's office. but besides that I had to have an ultrasound done on Monday to check for fatty liver.. If it is fatty then I have to lose 10 more pounds before he will do the surgery.. Also I did all of my pre-op stuff on Monday so who knows if the blood work is fine or not.. I hate the waiting... it is only a week and I need to make arrangements for pet sitting, my son, food etc.. but don't want to spend 100's of dollars if it isn't going to happen for another 2 months..
