Hi Maria, I suggest calling your surgeon. I suffer from horrendous cramps due to 5 large fibroids which eventually will lead to a hysterectomy. I told my WLS Surgeon that there is NO way I can go without Motrin, so he has me take Nexium in the morning on the days I have to take it Motrin, and I can only take a max. of 400mg, whereas I had been on 800mg pre-op. I now take the 400mg of Motrin with a Vicodin (prescribed by my OB/GYN). The key is the Nexium, but don't start taking it (if you already have some****IL your Surgeon clears it. Every Doctor is different. Good luck! -Karen

thanks for your replies. i went to see my doc today and he told me that if the pain gets bad, its ok to take motrin as long as i eat solid food with it and as long as i dont take it often, otherwise, i could get an ulcer. that was good news. thanks again. i appreciate the help.
