Can anyone answer this? I searched all over the DOT website and no answer?
We got a ticket for the inspection being expired today [it expired YESTERDAY - and I never noticed - my bad - on LI there is no street parking so I never had to worry about going over a day or so - in Brooklyn it's a totally different ball game
]. DH didn't discover the ticket until he came in from work after 5pm, so the shop is closed ... will get it first thing tomorrow, but does anyone know what happens to the car overnight?!? Can I get ANOTHER ticket? Will they tow it?!?
Thanks in advance! xosm

Hey you,
No they will not tow your car overnight unless you have like 27 outstanding parking tickets like my sister in laws boyfriend.
You could get another ticket if another cop rolls along and looks at the sticker. Maybe try leaving the ticket there so if a cop comes by they will pass it by? I dunno.

Thanks for the reply, T! There was an officer in a van across the street so I chatted with him a while, he said it's unlikely they will be on my block because it's the beginning of the month LOL - I got the ticket when I was at the meter at Pathmark, so he's probably right! Someone from my mom's group said you can't get the same ticket [parking violation] in a 24 hour period, so if I get another one, I guess I will fight it. NYC parking is certainly a challenge for me.
Thinking of you always, even if I don't say

Thats one reason I take the train into manhattan, always a brownie ready to give you a ticket. The city is the WORST with that kind of stuff.
Get the car inspected in the next day or two, and fight the ticket, most judges will dismiss it if you tell them it was accidently overlooked and you took care of it in a day or two after the ticket.
