I am having lap-band surgery in exactly 30 days, I started the count down. I am excited, can anybody offer some good advice? If you've had lap-band I want to know how you enjoy it

Hi Jen, Jen here! I just found this website while looking for information on the procedure, I am interested and was wondering if you could maybe help. I have questions like did your insurance cover the procedure if so, which one? How you selected a doctor, and are there any things prior to surgery; criteria you need to meet in order surgery to go as scheduled? Any info you could give would be a huge help! I am aliitle lost and unsure how to begin this process. Thanks for your time and hope to hear back.

I am in NY and selected Dr. Gadaleta basically from research. I am with Cigna health and they are covering the whole thing. Dr. Gadeleta is a great surgeon from N.Shore lIJ in Great Neck. His website is www.drgadeleta.com good luck

Hi Jen, How has your research been going? Did you check it out with your insurance co? Also, I know with my ins. which was cigna you had to have supervised weight loss with your doctor for 6 months and you also needed to have a BMI of at least 40 for a year, or 35 for 2 years. All ins. co are different, anyway, let me know how things progress.
