epideral surgery

I am wondering if there are any surgeons in NY state that do bariatric surgery using epideral medications rather than general anesthetics?

My surgeon uses this method, but not sure if they use it along with general anesthesia. They leave the epidural in for pain management afterwards also for a day or two. The office is located in Big Flats/ Horseheads area in NY. Bariatric Surgical Associates is the name, Dr. Cole, Dr. Mc Cane, and Dr. Moon. Hope this helps, Shannon

James: I have not heard of a Gastric Bypass being done *anywhere* any other way than w/ general anesthesia??? MANY surgeons use an epidural for pain relief post WLS that is inserted pre surgery...
