after spending the past 4 months in nutrition etc.. I finally had my meeting the doctor and they gave me a date of Nov 17th.... I am a church musician so that is about the latest that i can possibly do it and still be around to perform etc for the Christmas season... I am filled with all sorts of emotions which I know is normal. Now comes the fun.. getting things prepared and cleaning the house (I HATE cleaning)... I have lost 13.5 pounds so far in this journey and I might have to lose 10 more pounds if the ultrasound shows that I have a fatty liver... I hope it doesn't.... I dont want to wait around another couple of months... I have heard people talking about all of their pre-op diets etc... i don't know if I should be concerned or feel lucky... I just have to eat sensibly.. and then nothing to eat or drink the night before the surgery... no preps, liquid diets etc.... I was a little concerned about that but that might have to do with that fatty liver thing too.... I'm sure that i will be posting again soon with other questions.... Jenny

Congrats, Jenny! Not everybody has to do a pre-op diet. I didn't... but did eat sensibly (kind of) for a month before. I also increased my protein intake because I read that you heal faster from surgery if you do. Good luck!!! Traci

Jenny, YEAH and congrats hun I know all the excitement and worry can get to you but remember your doing this for yourself and you are going to feel so awesome after. Also congrats on losing the 13.5 lbs... That is just awesome. I just had to do the clear liquids the day before but every Dr is different. Keep us posted hun and ask away. Debra P

By the way, are you going to Syracuse? Who's your doctor?

I decided not to go to Syracuse after talking to people who had gone there... weighed all the pros/cons.... I decided to go to Rochester and have Dr. Boss do the surgery.. It is a little bit further but I feel very comfortable there. I see that you and I are almost next door neighbors... HI!!!! talk to you soon Jenny
