Donna Q: Hi! Life has challenges and perhaps right now you are being challenged. It is possible you have a complication w/ the band!? Only having a surgeon check/run tests will you know. It is not uncommon for bands (10-30%) to have complications early or late postop such as: Band Slippage or migration w/ pouch dilation Band erosion/perforation of stomach Port failure/flipping/leaking/infection Band leakage/failure/rejection needing replacement So get the physical ruled out first ok! I bet it is time for a fill! Remember this is a jurney of a million miles and getting the band is the first step. There is no perfection only progress, perhaps you are attempting tobe perfect which can set us up for that inner child to sabotage (think deprivation always leads to a binge!) Look at all you are doing not not doing! Look how far you have come, acknowledge teh chalenges you have had and succeeded at, look at thetemendous effort needed for life, it doesn't get easier, acceptance of the lifelong effort we have to give for health can lower the rebellion (case of the screw its we can get!) One undo wont undo the year ok! Sometimes what u eat set up the trigger/cravings. Look to getting back to your lifstyle, one step at a time (water, protein, exercise etc).... Be kind, gentle and loving to self, allow for helathy choices to gyide yoou 90% of the time, it is fine 10% to be not so 'perfect!' Remember perfectionism focuses on the flaws! HUGS PLEASE keep us informed! No butt kicking allowed only love and acceptance! Allow the feelings to come and pass, release the shame and guilt ok! Donna, First off congrats on your 110 lbs loss.... That is just awesome... Now I think Jamie said it better then I could, call your Dr and find out if a fill is something you need to get. Also that is so true what Jamie said about the eating good 90% of the time. I was one that used to live ALL or NOTHING but I am in the middle of learning other right now, so hard to do though! We are only human and have to allow for that 10%!!!! You came to the right place to vent hun, you are around friends here! Now take a deep breath and give yourself permission to forget and move forward! Keep us posted hun.. Debra P

Hi Donna Just had lap band less than 1 week ago so I am no expert like you but I guess there are always times that we need to eat more than others. Maybe this is because of the change in season and weather or it's hormonal. I am feeling hungrier than I thought I would be and it's taking a lot of broth and jello to fill me up. My expectations were that I wouldn't want to eat anything. Staying home isn't helping either so I have been doing a lot of walking.. I will see my Doctor on Wednesday and ask him about this. My fear is going through what you are experiencing now. I can't afford to eat anymore than I ate before the surgery. You did absolutely fantatstic and I hope I can do the same. Let me know what the doctor advises and meantime go easy on yourself Shelly
