Yea, I'm home! Procedure went well, gall bladder is out, lap-band is in. I spent one night in the hospital and then they shipped me home. For all of you pre-ops my doc told me that If I didn't lose the 26lbs and shink my liver pre-op he would have had to back out and send me home with a new date. He had just enough room to work safely. So stay on your pre-op diet! All things considered I feel pretty well, as long as I take my pain meds every 4 hours or so. I'm being good so far, waking, drinking, etc. I actually feel better when I'm moving but need to keep from doing too much too soon. Getting all the gas out is causing me more ongoing discomfort that the surgery wounds. Don't get me wrong when I cough it hurts and I need to force myself to cough every hour after using the deep breathing exerciser thingy. But things are going so well so far I don't want to muck I up by being complacent. Anyway I just want to make a quick post an let everyone know so far things are going well. -j-

Hey you, I am glad to hear everything went well and you are home, yay for you! Yes gas pains are horrible. They blow you up with air like a macys day parade balloon while you are on the table. Take your time and everything will fall into place! Wishing you nothing but the best.

Hi Jeffrey, Congratulations on being a Lap Bandit! Here's to the beginning of a new beginning. It sounds like you are very determined and willing to do what is needed which is a great beginning. For me, the gas was not too bad. My surgeon also had us buy chewable Gas-X Pre-op to have on hand. I think that's what helped me. Here's to a speedy and uneventful recovery. And welcome to the Losers Hugs, Karen
