hi
I am very overweight BUT I also have gastroparisis! usually you are very thin if you have gastroparisis but I am one in 1000 has always been heavy(MO). My doctors want me to have the micro pouch they said it may cure or help the gastroparisis and losing weight would help me too. this sounds so scarey any one have this surgery that can tell me something first hand about it?

Hi Frankie,
I have had problems with stasis/molitity with this surgery, and I never had any problems like this before.
I developed a complication after my RNY surgery called 'roux stasis syndrome' and it is a pretty horrible thing to live with. It is similar to gastroparesis(which is the delay emptying the stomach, no?) but 'roux stasis' is the delay of emptying of the roux limb (aka small intestines b/wn the two surgicial connections). Give there is no more pyloric sphincter under the pouch, the small intestine underneath the pouch(roux limb) does the pushing of the food with its movements. My limb competely loss the paralysis of muscle function there.
That has just been my situation and rarely seems to happen. I wish you noting but the best and email me if you have questions. GOOD LUCK!
