Holiday Party Idea!

I have been reading alot of posts with everyone wanting to get together but no action being taken. OK so....I was thinking along with talking to Lisa S {fr1endly2} about setting up a Holiday Party here in Manhattan for either the first or second Saturday of December. I live in a co-op where they have rooms that can be rented out and where parties can be held. We were thinking of a pot luck type setting, where everyone could make a main dish or a dessert {WLS friendly of course}. We were also thinking of doing a secrete santa to make it more exciting. Maybe $15 limit on secrete santa? That can be discussed. Family and friends of course are invited as well...This is a family type party. I would need to know who is interested and which Sat is better and that way I can reserve the room. So who is interested? I need commitments...We have talked about this enough and its time to get together and celebrate. We have plenty of time to prepare and make arrangements. Love Ya LisaMarie

Hi LisaMarie, What time of day were you thinking about? December 2nd I already have plans to go to NYC with my 14 year old to see the window displays and possibly a Broadway show for her B'Day. The following Saturday, 12/9 is my last class this semester, in the AM, but I could be there by 2ish. I guess any Saturday after that would be too close to XMAS for most. So, it may possibly workout for me on the 2nd or possibly the 9th,depending on the time of day..... please let me know around what time of day, maybe we can stop by. I was wondering if more people would be interested if this would be planned after XMAS? Then again, we'd have to worry about the weather. Anyway people, come on, post your thoughts, ideas and suggestions. Maryellen

I think Dennis is a better fit for Santa b/c he has the belly for it. My poor husband is known as the 'chunky' one around here now. Speaking of my husband...Dennis is a big yankee fan as well. He actually does alot of freelance sports writing. I know he sports illustrated online is one of them and he is up for a job w/the new york times. He writes about fantasy sports and is obsessed w/it. From what he says, he is well known in the fantasy sports "world". I dont know I just think its wierd and geeky. hee-hee. Be good!
