Hi all: I'm in Ontario and am thinking about having WLS in NYC due to wait times here in Canada. Just wanted to get some feedback from others who have had their surgeries in NYC. Who did you go with? How was s/he as a doctor/surgeon to you? Would you refer them to a friend? Understanding that some people might not want to post publicly, you can email me directly at [email protected] if you like. Thanks everyone! Mallory

Which procedure are you looking to have done? the reason I ask, is that if you're looking for RNY, and maybe even LAP-Band, there are tons of Drs that are MUCH closer to you.... Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse, Saranac Lake, and I'm sure quite a few others near the boarder. now if you're looking for DS, then you can still stay somewhat close... Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake... Dr Hixson and Dr Hill (I think it's Hill) perform all 3 of the major procedures. if you have your heart set on NYC, I don't think you can go wrong with either one of these two.... Dr Gagner and his team... NY Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Center http://www.cornellweightlosssurgery.org/ or Dr Roslin's team at http://www.nomoreobesity.com good luck

Hi Sean: I guess I should have put that in my post, eh? LOL I was thinking about RNY but am not sure. I've been hearing good things about DS as well. I do want to go to NYC as my best friend is going to come with me and we thought we would go a week or so early and make it a bit of a vacation before my surgery. Thanks for your imput Sean. And good luck next month on your surgery! Mallory
