Ok.. you guys were extremely helpful with my previous cry for help, I thought I would pump you for a little more info if possible. I am nervous about a trip I am taking with my daughter(surprise for her 16th b-day) to Ny,NY. We found great hotel accomodations, now I am trying to fill the three days with great stuff. 1. I found discount tickets for Phantom of the Opera (orchestra section row U-around there) for 65.00 online at Theater Mania, I have heard about the tickets booths for last minute tickets, would it be better to wait and see if I can get them cheaper from the booth? 2. More for the Ladies in the room: Does anyone know of a shop where my daughter might find a great prom dress that is, well, cheap but really amazing? I don't know if you have a consignment/resale shop that would have really reduced prices on great clothing. I keep envisioning people recycling gorgeus gowns at some out of the way shop. Looking for something that will be unique so she does not see it on four other girls at the prom next spring. 3. Great pizza- my daughter is a fanatic- any suggestions on restaurants 4.last and weirdest question- My daughter likes Indie-rock, emo type music. I tried to get tickets to the Nokia Theater for a concert but it was sold out. Do you know of any concerts in this genre, I may try for tickets the day we get there for one concert if the train is on time. The concert is at Irving plaza and the YMCA said taxi's will run about 15.00 each way. I am disappointed I missed out on the Atreyu concert, so trying to recoup my losses. Ok, happy Sunday. Yes, I am stressed about making this a great trip, unfortunately on a slightly tight budget. NY is reallly expensive! Oh, how cold is it? Thanks for any input, I really appreciate it, Stacie from North Carolina, braving the gigantic world of NY,NY!

Hi Stacie - Welcome to the Big Apple, and hoping you really enjoy your stay. Re cheap tickets, if you have time to stand on line, the TKTS booths offer very good discounts on shows for that evening and/or the matinees the following day. There are 2 of them...one is in Times Square and mobbed (plan on standing on line for a couple of hours). The other one is kind of a well-kept secret...it's down at the South Street Seaport in lower Manhattan. I work in the area, and pass it regularly. The longest I have seen the line there is about 25 people...same shows, same prices, etc. Here is a link to their site (don't be fooled by nyctkts which is a private broker)... http://www.tdf.org/tkts/# Sorry, not much help about the other questions you have, except that John's Brick Oven Pizza around the City is fantastic in my opinion! Have fun! Mary Mc

Thank you for the Ticket Booth info. I originally only planned a whirlwind visit to NY- in and out after one night. But when I got the great room rate I opted to expand it to three nights- leaving Sunday morning. I am thoroughly shocked that I am spending the money on this trip. Totally out of character since I am a divorced mom with two very expensive teenagers. I just wanted to do something extremely special for my daughter. Her older brother is autistic and requires a lot of attention, and some times I know we decisions that do not take her into account. This is my way to say "I love you and appreciate how amazing you are". I honestly could not afford to take the trip, but since my surgery and turning 40 this summer I realized its just money, I want to create an amazing memory for her. I love the new life WLS has provided, now to enjoy it a bit. I know even if we did not do anything but walk around NY she would be thrilled, but I do want to sneak in a couple of gems for her to tell friends back home about. Stacie
