Roni, Oh no, I wonder why that just started for him? Did they have an idea? I guess you will have to follow up with your PCP right? I bet he was scared as well How is he feeling now? YES please make sure you get the protein in, you should be getting between 40-80 grams a day. How much are you taking in now? Try some of the below things to help bring it up: Archive One protein drink (I will send you the link via email) F/F refried Beans (Old Elpaso) Hard boiled Eggs Zero Carb Isopure protein powder (Cookies and Cream, Choc) s/f DeVinco syrups to add to the protein drinks! Beef Jerky Cold Cuts Protein Bars Low sugar yogurts String cheese There are so many things that can help you bring up your protein level..... Love ya, Debra P

Hey Debra, I've been MIA from this post for a few days....walking is good, esp around town, at least it's interesting. B: 2 egg omlete with 2 slices of cheese. S: Protein bar L: 1 can of tuna 3 tablespoons of may with 2 cups of salad 8 crackers S: 100 calorie snacks: cool ranch doritos Protein bar D: 2 cups of A version of hamburger helper (made with extra meat and fresh veggies), 2 small corn on the cobs Late night snack: Atkins protein shake For anyone looking for a little snack thats a controlled portion, the 100 calorie snacks are great. They give you the taste of doritos, or cheeseits etc...but you get a controlled portion. The doritos has only 12 grams of carbs. Scott PS Debra...thank you for starting this post and trying to help us stay accountable!!!!! It's much appreciated. I'm sure it's helpful to newer post ops and preops too, so they can see what a person will and can eat after a bit of time out from their surgery. I know for me, the biggest thing i feared about WLS was not being able to "eat" again, and I have found that to be completely untrue. I think i eat better now then I did before surgery for sure, but eating now is not filled with guilt and anxiety about weight gain. To everyone else post op: Lets play it forward and start posting to this post on a more regular basis (even if it's just a few times a week). It will help you stay focused on your weight loss efforts, esp when your having a day when your courting carbo man or sugar ****and I know it's appreciated by those who are newly out the gate.

Scottie, You are SOOO true about the "not eating" again thoughts! WOW I see it as good and bad because I can still try a little taste of the things that I love (with the exception of real ice cream) but eat it as a "normal" serving. I do not have to make myself feel sick to stop eating now though there are some days that I can eat EVERYTHING in site. I would love to see more posting to this everyday or on a regular basis, I know in the summer it was hard as we all had fun in the sun. Thanks again hun for posting. Debra P

It wasn't too bad. I enjoy sushi, so I tried it on a slice of multigrain organic wheat bread. It was delish! I liked it so much I had it for breakfast today! Well, good luck on your journeys, ladies and gents! I'm so glad I have you all to lend a listening ear, and I hope you feel the same way!! Later. Jen Halliday

Hey anita, I don't have a chart, but it's easy, all you have to do is some basic math. It's called fraction to decimial conversion. You take the top number and divide it by the bottom number. i.e. 1/4 of a cup is 1 divided by 4 which equals .25 1/3 of a cup is 1 divided by 3 which equals .33 (actually .333333...but you just round it off). So the basics: 1/4= .25 1/2= .5 1/3= .33 1/8= .125 Hope this helps...by the way you don't need to add carbs. There are no "esential carbs" for living. but you do need to get in a minimum amount of protein. Scott
