Hello All Tomorrow is my big day! Would anyone be kind enough and help me get me through this day with some positive thoughts, inspirational stories & your experience on the day of surgery. Any ideas of what to drink on this "clear liquid diet" day before surgery? I'm so hungry! THANKS

Clear Liquids include water, crystal lite, diet ice tea, broth, sugar free Jello and sugar free popsicles. Celebrate with an extra popsicle Stay positive, the hunger pains will subside. I promise. And after, you'll love being a "loser"! Best of luck to you Molly LAP RNY 10/4/06 318/292/150

Nicole, Best of luck tomorrow...you are in excellent hands. LC from this board has her surgery tomorrow morning too (Dr. Holover) so you and she will probably be roomies As I told LC: whatever feelings and thoughts you have after surgery (other than the joy of it being over!)...everything else is just temporary. Any pain, any doubts: all normal, and this too shall pass. The 3rd morning at Mercy (my surgery was 9/12) was the day I was discharged. I recall sitting in a chair, waiting for my Mom to arrive, which was going to be another hour or so. I was brought a tray of unrecognizable food and I looked at the nurse and started to cry...and said to her, "WHY...WHY did I do this?" And she told me that her friend had had a RNY 3 weeks prior and was exactly the way I was at that moment when she got home. The nurse then told me that her friend was now thrilled and felt like it was the best thing she had ever done. And guess what? I feel that way now! Keep us posted. The day before with the clear liquids...I had a migraine from hell. It was far worse than any pain i experienced post-op, if that's any consolation. Goood luck ! -Karen

Nicole,Hakuna Matata!!! Means no worries(Lion King) Be positive and think about how your life is going to change for the better. When I went in on surgery day they called me in right away and before I could worry I was off to surgery. You'll be in my thoughts tomorrow.I'm praying that all goes well and you have a speedy recovery.Keep us posted when you get home and feel up to it.I got to eat up to midnight the day before surgery ,which I thought was strange. When I got out I wasn't allowed to drink any water for 2 days. That was hard cuz I was really thirsty.Good Luck and we will see you on the loser's bench!!!Darlene
