Hello there, I can't believe its the afternoon almost 3 o'clock and I am the first to respond today....HHMMMMM I love this time of year too Deb. Its my favorite, nice and cool to sleep, no need for air conditioner and no need for heat, yet beautiful and warm during the day time. I also had a bad carb day, but also worked my rear end off. Did a bunch of yard work at Mom's house, they have a very large yard area along with a few acres behind the house. Dad can no longer do any mowing, so between my mother and my husband and myself, we are doing what we can to help out. Mom is feeling great and able to do much more since her WLS, she is about 5 1/2 weeks out and feeling so good that she sometimes does too much. My Dad is failing very fast, every day we can see that he gets worse, he is very dizzy and unstable, has lost about 30 or more pounds in the past month or so, and he didn't have WLS. He feels like his lungs are going to give out before the cancer takes him, quite frankly I agree. I am trying to spend my days off at their house, even if I don't do anything but sit and have coffee with him. My brother is going to come out again in November. So that will be nice to have some more time for them together. Anyway, here is what I remember having yesterday: B- omelette w/cheese S- protein bar, mixed nuts L- julienne salad at the diner, daughter ate what I couldn't S- cheeze it thin crackers several different times as I passed the bag D- grilled cheese sandwich ( first full 2 slices of bread sandwich since surgery ) S- mixed nuts lots of coffee, some water not enough I am sure thought I would hit the century mark today, but NO mother nature had to arrive, I HATE TOM So thats was my day, today I had plans to go pick up car parts for daughters car, thats another story, she is not injured but car was, but the guy the other day did not tell me that I had to leave a deposit to have the parts ready for today, so now we can't get them till Thursday. So instead I have been cleaning house, which it needed anyway, and shampooed carpets, now gonna get out my Halloween decorations. Also hopefully I can get ahold of Mom so that I can take my printer to get fixed. (she has a puter guy). Have a great day, Hugs Shannon 257/158/130???

Shannon, Busy women you are. Yeah it is rather slow in there these last few days, I guess so many are enjoying the last of these really warm days before the cold comes in.....Ekkkkk Well that is really good news that your Mom is doing well and very sad that your Dad is not. I know the journey with someone with cancer is a hard one, my Dad had lung cancer and it was not pretty in the end. That has been 18 years now and sometimes it feels like yesterday and others it feels more. I often wonder what he would have looked like today. TOM is bad for us women I tell you. Take care Debra P

Hiya Debra, I had a rare day off today. Unfortunately, my older son is sick with strep throat (can the younger one be far behind?), so it was sort of a work at home day. C'est la vie. S: Hand full of nuts L: Cottage cheese and peaches, and 1/2 a pbj sandwich S: Hand full of nuts D: Rotisserie chicken and a small amount of macaroni salad 48 oz water, 20 oz decaf coffee All vits, supplements, etc Back to "work" tomorrow..... xo Amy

Hi Deb, I've been writing all of the food down, but have been lazy about posting...still catching up on sleep these days B 2.5 strips bacon, 1 egg omelet with Amer. Cheese, S 3/4 pear, L Bag of SF yogurt pretzels, SF Snapple S 1 Tbs nuts, 2 Zweiback D 1 c FF refried beans, 1/2 oz Mont Jack cheese S 1 c ff milk, more nuts I'm still hovering at 115 1/2 lbs and pcp wants me to begin a maintenance plan. Have an appointment with a nutritionist on 10-13. Can't wait...want to establish a good eating regime without too much meat & poultry since they make me sick these days. Since ab surgery on 9-14, I've been really craving the carbs!!! Gotta watch out now that they are going down better than the proteins. LindaM 230/115.6/115

Ok, so bare with me, I'm still a new loser I had a protein drink at 8am, took me about an hour to get down. Drank crystal lite (16 oz) For "lunch" I made sugar free pudding, I had 6 bites. Drank propel all afternoon, about 16 oz Dinner was tuna fish, 6 bites, omg it was heavenly Tonight I still have to get another protein shake in I walked quite a bit today, went to Michael's and AC Moore to get card making stuff. That was a blast. Walking each day more and more is helping alot. Molly

OK... guess I'll post in here once in a while before anyone gets mad, jealous or worried, just keep in mind... I'm still PRE-OP B- 8 oz protein shake made w/ 2% milk (and a little extra vanilla flavor) S- 2 pieces wheat toast w/ peanut butter L- can of tuna, teaspoon mayo (mixed a little dry) over a thin bed of lettuce S- small handful of Sun Chips (Harvest cheddar flavor)... probably around 10-12 chips D- Chicken parm w/ spaghetti.... only one helping this time... I exchanged a large piece of the chicken for a smaller helping of spaghetti (pasta has been my biggest downfall the last couple years, trying to wean off, in favor of larger portions of meat) water intake (plain water, crystal light, tea after dinner) - 180-200 ounces (yes that's right... about 1 1/2 gallons or a little more) sup - Equate Complete mult (same as centrum)... 1 tab (probably will be 2 or 3 post-op) Equate brand Calcium Citrate +D... 1 standard dose (2 tabs) excercise - walking in mall to find new pair of shoes for work.... some light yard work around house... vacuumed inside.
