Flipping out !
HI guys,
I am SO upset ... I have a bit of a nagging cough at times and swollen toncils. I feel fine ... no fever and do not feel "sick."
I just emailed my surgeon - to let him know and see what he says. I wonder if I can go on super duper antibotics
???? I am scheduled to go in Monday 10-9 and EVERYTHING is all set. My mom staying with me for a month, My husband taking a weeks vacation, not to mention how I am emotionally prepared for this surgery- you all know the deal.
So has this happened to any of you? What happened?
I am so BUMMED
say a prayer for me,
Britt

Yeah it happened to me ....I was popping Vitamin C and zinc lozengers (which i don't recommend because i know now that zinc can interfer with medication absorbtion) like crazy.
I had a stuffy nose, and a cough...but otherwise i felt fine.
Most of the time a surgeon won't cancel a surgery because of it though.

Britt,
I'm not a person who usually prays (we can talk about on a rainy day!). However: tonight I did and will continue to. Hearing your voice so frantic was heartbreaking. I know how you have been counting the days - NO...the hours. So rest up, see how you feel when you get up, and if need be, call your PCP.
If you need any help or anything from the store/pharmacy, ring me. In the meantime I'll keep you in my prayers.
Hugs,
Karen

Britt,
Hun please just rest and take care of yourself over the weekend.....
I know how upsetting it is to have it all changed around but also know that things always happen for a reason, what ever that may be! I often think that our bodies are under so much stress before surgery that once we get close our bodies get sick
Just something you see a lot of right before surgery.
Hun keep us posted!
I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers that you are feeling better before Monday!

Hey Britt,
I was initally suppose to have my surgery in Jan '05 but my blood from the pre-op testing showed my white blood count was a little high and the surgeon refused to operate on me until it went into normal range. I didnt feel sick but I guess I had some sort of little cold.
The last thing you want to do is to go under general and have a major operation when you have some sort of bug/infection (viral or not).
I am sure it will pass but remember everything happens for a reason!! Feel better soon!

Hi Everyone,
I just spoke to Britt. She heard from Dr. Garber, and he said she has to see her PCP, and that her PCP then has to call him and say if she can or cannot have the surgery. The decision is in the hands of her PCP, who she's not thrilled with because he's not very Pro-WLS. Her appointment it at 12:10 today.
Let's all keep Britt in our thoughts...she will be SO disappointed and need all of our support.
Thanks,
Karen
