Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I ended up self-pay in Mexico. Amerigroup is a joke. They say 2 year wait. I called them over 10 times to verify coverage. They kept telling me on the phone I was good to go after 6 month diet. But when Dr Umbach submitted for approval they denied. I was going to appeal. But my in-laws stepped in and paid for my surgery. Good luck!!!

2013:  20 Funny New Year's Resolutions

When it comes to New Year's resolutions, our family members and friends can get quite creative and even funny with what they resolve to do in the New Year.  Here a few good ones I have heard along the way...Oh, and a few of my own!

1.  I resolve to stop procrastinating about procrastinating!

2.  I will stop sending Facebook messages and emails to my loved ones when they are in the same room as I am!

3.  I will use my treadmill for something other than a place to hang my jacket.

4.  I will not sit at the kitchen table in my PJ's all day.  Instead, I will move my computer to my bedroom.

5.  I vow to never take a laxative and a sleeping pill on the same night!

Topic: RE: Dr. Robert Rutledge and mini gatric bypass

I realize this is an old post, but was reading some of the negative comments about Dr. Rutledge and won't to give my two cents.  My wife was morbidly obese.  She had the MGB four years ago, and lost almost 150 pounds, and she's kept it off.  With the exception of having to take some supplements to compensate for some malabsorption issues, her surgery was very successful, and her recovery from surgery was quick.  My wife's sister and a coworker also had the MGB and had no problems.  I know several other people that had this surgery and have lost their excess weight and kept it off.  Everyone I know that used Dr. Rutledge for the surgery were very happy with their experience with him, and none of them had complications from the surgery.  As far as I'm concerned this is the best surgical weight loss option available, and although I'm not morbidly obese,  I am about 70 pounds overweight and intend to have the surgery performed on me by Dr. Rutledge.
