My husband and I moved to Reno in March so I could take a job (that sucked--long story), but the bonus is that I now have insurance. I started on OH back in Nov 2004, came within 4 days of having an RnY 2/06, but my HMO balked. Then I went four years without insurance. So here I am starting over again, this time for the DS.

So I thought I'd come and say "HI", introduce myself, and see what's going on in Nevada! Are there any meet-ups in Reno??  I'd love to meet some people!!

Ok, so how are all my friends doing? I'll start:

I've been going along well...I'd been frustrated that after a phenomenal first month, I'm only losing 10-12 lbs. a month since, but I guess it all adds up. I'm just over four mos. out and down 75 lbs.

I'd been so excited about working out...I'd started walking two miles to the gym, then doing strength training, then walking the two miles back...and then whammo! Last week I started having some significant pain when I would breathe in, and then the eating issues started. Couldn't eat more than a bite or two without tremendous pain (felt like everything was getting stuck).

I suffered through the weekend (Dr. Hanna was out of town and his answering service refused to let me speak to the on call doc) and finally reached Dr. Hanna on Tuesday. I was put on clear liquids until I saw him yesterday. He's said I must have injured my pouch, so I'll be on full liquids for at least two weeks. If you thought full liquids were a rough go post op, it's hellish when you're HUNGRY. lol But at least I've not been in incredible pain, and I guess I'll have some weight loss from it. It's killing me to not exercise, but I've been so darn weak the last several days, so hopefully I'll feel like going for a good walk this weekend.

So that's what's up w/me...how are you all doing?

Thanks so much for the compliment! Have you maybe tried Dr. Teng or Dr. Atkinson? They are also very well known in Vegas and have a great track record with their patients. Good luck to you in your search for a good doctor. Please be sure to check their medical history and also know what type of follow up care they provide and for how long.

He did a C-section on me at 480 lbs and didn't say anything bad. I actually Go to Dr Jocelyn Ivie she is really nice. But They both did my C-section because of the difficulty level.
