I need to start taking a liquid multivitamin and liquid protein. Any suggestions? Can't afford anything expensive, and I dont want to have to order online, so GNC or stores to purchase work for me. I need a lot of protein and I hate the shakes. Agghhhh.

Thanks

Hey ladies ... I'm in Las Vegas also. I had the Sleeve on 8/17 and I'm looking for a support group also. I live in Silverado Ranch near Eastern/St. Rose do you know of any support groups on this side of town?

Also Terri ... do you work out at LVAC?

Hi Caryn,
Mountain View Hosp is at Durango and Tenaya. I am across town about 25 miles away from there. Check out Dr. Francis Teng website Bariactic Weight Loss Center or google him. and google Mountain Veiw Hosp. I had the Gastirc Bypass in 1982, it was a really bad surgery and did not work at all. Caused me numerous problems. My stomach attached itself to my liver nad had to be cut away from all the scar tissue. I have 2 ulcers and others issues but this surgery LapBand has been good so far and I've lost over 30 lbs in 6 weeks.

So if you want me can meet there at 7pm. and talk more.  My pc is very slow using OH, it's freezes everytime and its takes so long to get OH to take or receive a msg. Please email me direct it is easier fopr me to answer. ok

Thanks
Terri

(Just realized my old account is still active..so I switched back to it!))

Terri,
I am sorry...I am still NEW to Las Vegas. hahaha   I really don't know my way around very well at all, unless I am headed to the Military Base...and down I-95 or I-15.      I am really up for attending the support group on Monday...of course I will have to get directions.
I would love to meet some others who have had or are having revisions...and others that have had the gastric bypass, as I am kinda scared of this whole process.  I have had my Lap Band for so long...and just over the past 3 years experienced problems with it. (Slippage, Hiatal Hernia, and Barretts Esophagus.)  I am hoping I do not have Pyloric Valve disfuncation....something I plan on talking to my doctor about.
So far I am planning on going...but School starts Monday also..and I have a little kindergartener starting that day. :)    So...I don't want to promise a carpool...unless I am totally positive I will be attending. But...I will REALLY try to make it there, and maybe next time we can carpool it. :)

Terri,
Is it a support group for just the lap-band or for gastric bypass as well?  As I am having my revision to the gastric bypass. Lord knows...I know about the Lap-Band. :)  I hope you have great success with it...as my success was minimal and it has been a headache for the past 3 years.
I live way up in the NorthWest corner of 95 and Durango...
thanks,
Caryn

Hi Caryn,
I just had Lap Band done July 14th, and am feeling great. I go to Dr. Francis Teng support groups the last Monday of every month. We meet at the Mountain View Hosp. I am going this monday if you'd like to attend.  This Lap Band was a revision from a bothced gastric bypass I had in 1982. Dr. teng did a wonderful job. Please come tothe group. I live near St. Rose and Eastern. if you'd like to carpool. Please e mail me at [email protected]

Terri,
Good Luck to you. It is so exciting to start out this new adventure. You will have a bit of soreness, especially around the port area of your band.  I am a 7 year out band patient, but I am having a revision in Sept. to the RNY.   I still have port sensitivity when I exercise my lower abdomen area and if I walk to much. But...my port is really deep, as I carry alot of weight around my middle...even have had issues with fills because of it...had to get some done under fluro.
Anyway...I just wanna wish you all the luck with your new lifestyle change...good luck again.
