Support Group in LV open to any surgeon's post op
I am looking for a post-op group that is active, interactive and allows patients from any surgeon. I am new-er to the Las Vegas area. I formerly enjoyed a program that was available weekly and am having trouble finding a support group in LV, especially one that has meaningful meetings more than once a month. Am looking for a program that is well rounded and offers something on all the aspects of WLS success -- exercise, behavior and nutrition. I attended one (which will remain forever unnamed) but disappointedly it didn't address all three aspects.

Hi there,
Our clinic offers a weekly weight management group that includes a great deal of behavioral focus. Currently, it is open to post op patients as well as non WLS weight management patients but the hope is that as it grows we will divide the groups. Typically 5-10 people attend and the cost is $5. It is facilitated by a Masters level psychology student pusuing her doctorate who has been working with eating and weight disorders and bariatric surgery for two years. Occasionally, my husband or I facilitate as well. (He is an internist specializing in bariatrics and I am a psychologist). If you are interested or want more information check out our website www.chslv.com or call 363-6005. We are also looking at starting a structured weight loss surgery therapy group in September with a varied curriculum focused on post operative quality of life and better outcomes.
Congrats on all of your success!
Lindsey
