Bahaha!!!  I wish we would have met up before or after!!

Before that my fastest time was 1:40 so I was pretty pleased to shave that much off...  I ran a lot more in the marathon than I can 'in real life' lmao - the atmosphere took over for me and I just went with it... BUT after the race I felt like I had the hips of a 90 year old - my right hip is STILL killing me!  Oh well, I'm so glad I did it anyway - what a feeling of accomplishment!  and for you to be running for the 2nd year, well THAT is really what's impressive chick!!  :)))  Woohoo!!

Sorry to be a pest guys, but now I want to know if you can give me a rough idea (based on your experiences), how long you normally have to wait to have the surgery after the clinic info session?  After that info session do they start bringing people back and booking surgery dates?
Thanks a bunch guys!!  Still happy as ever to even be attending the next session June 15th!!!!

You little S*&t, you beat me!!!!! lol

My time was 1:37 this year which was improved from 1:54 last year.
I ran a lot of it this year which, by my time, you can tell I'm not a fast runner!!

go under nshealth.ca then look under obesity. There is a wealth of info on there and if you go under consult for surgery you can print this off for your doctor. Good luck.

I was speaking to my doctor today.  He said aftercare cannot be refused, if it is, go to your local ER.  He also said anyone thinking about going to Mexico or anywhere else out of the country should ask if the fee they are charging include complications such as, deep vein thrombosis (DVT) or formation of blood clot in the leg, and pulmonary embolism   If the fee doesn't cover this you will be running into more charges, expensive hospital and doctor fees.  Also check with your insurance, if you are self paying to have the sugery done, will your insurance cover any medical complications.

Welcome to this forum! I was initially referred to NB but the referral was sent back because I live in NS I'm afraid the waiting list here is about 2000 people with only 80 surgeries done a year. You'll be seen sooner if you have diabetes and a BMI of over 40.Other things they look at are high blood pressure and sleep apnea. Good luck with your research!
