I am going April 26th and can't believe it!!!

I am heading to Mexico on the 26th to have surgery with Dr. Kelly.  It has been a long road but it is finally happening!!!!! I am so excited!  Spoke to Dr. Kelly yesterday and his assistant, Lora Lee.  They were great and so helpful.....I am so happy.  I can't wait for the trip......My life is going to start agian!!!  IT HAS BEEN SO LONG since I have been me!!!!!

Hi valleymom, I am happy for you :)  I am a brand new member and just starting my search for information.  If you have any advice , I'd love to hear .  The biggest question, is the cost of traveling to another country to have surgery . The wait time for N.S. is sooo outrageous !   I am 49 and do not want to wait 5 plus years :((   All the best to you !!  I will keep watch for your progress.  Take Care.

Flight is 600-900 I would think for San Deigo. You can play with dates to see which is the cheapest day to travel. The 5500 or whatever the cost for Dr Kelly is well worth getting your health back quicker then the 10-20 yr wait here in NS.

it has been a long road for me...many doubts.....but here i am heading to mexico....eekies! nothing left but the crying..heehee! can't wait......

Girl you will not be crying a few months from now when your weight starts to melt off!!!!  You life will begin again!!!  I can't wait for you to have the same feeling I had.  On second thought you might be crying, but from happiness!!!! 

San Diego is a great city!!!!  I went to Mexico by myself and got RNY.  If you have time to see the city, go for it!!!!  They picked me up at the hotel so I had a little time to see the sights.

You will NEVER regret it!!!!  Had RNY in 2009 in Mexico!!!  Changed my life! You will be able to eat again, don't worry!  Alot of scare tactics out there.  I thought I would never be able to drink a beer or eat a Western Sandwich again...not true...just can't eat very much of one!!!  And you don't want to so don't be scared that you will never taste good food again...you will....go for it!!!!!

Thanks and I will try to keep you all posted.  I am finding it so busy this week as I leave on the 25th and fly out on the 26th.  I have everything in order and got all my vitamines and things so I don't have to worry about them when I get back.  I am so excited!!!!!!
