Enjoy Enjoy or wear sunglasses! lol  Don't feel guilty it's none of their business. I don't plan on telling many people if I get the surgery.  Have a great weekend!

I love the compliments!
And I don't hide what I did with anyone.  Hell, I've been known to lift my shirt and show my surgery scars to strangers!

I haven't had the "omg, I didn't recognize you."

I love your attitude Oakley!!  It is better to be honest but I hate nosy people that is one of my main pet peeves!

The compliments make me uncomfortable too sometimes...  I always feel like I have to offer up an explanation instead of just saying thanks (which is something I'm working on).  I absolutely hate all the 'how did you do it' questions - I'm one of the ones who didn't share the fact that I had wls - I just don't think it's anyone's business (if it was their business, I would have already told them lol)!!  Finally, I'll add "how much did you lose?" to my list of "mind your own business" questions!!  lol  Yeah, I'm gonna tell the 110 lb nosy neighbor that I lost the equivalent of her, plus her kid, plus her dog!  NOT!  I usually just say "a couple of dogs & a cat" or "a lot" and try to leave it at that!  Thanks, I needed that vent too!!!  lol

Hmm ... this is an issue with many sides. I am in the category of wanting to keep my surgery choice to myself (I don't even use my own name on here ... and it's pretty safe here, I'd think). I told my Hubs, my mother and my closest friend in the world ... and that was it. My mother then blabbed it all over the place (telling my sisters, her co workers and pretty well every other geesly person she knows ... all the while running some sort of twisted poll on everybody's opinion on MY DECISION!) - I was vicious!

The compliments are nice ... I simply LOVE to hear that folks are noticing that I am losing weight ... the questions, not so much. If it is someone with a weight problem, I will tell them - happily ... if it is a person who is just being a tool, I don't give them anything. It isn't anybody's business, and I have found that many people are incredibly ignorant to this procedure.

As most of you know, my choice was to not keep it a secret.  So I've always given the explanation upfront, and that shuts them up or opens the door for all the questions of "what's it like", "think I can have it done"......sometimes it's like I'm the WLS spokesperson.  LOL

I respect everyone's decisions to keep it personal or tell the whole world, we're all different when it comes to revealing our personal lives.  For me, it's always helped keep me accountable!!!!!
