Fresh New Innovative Support Group for Nova Scotians!

I don't know if you realized or not, but I have been having support group meetings in my home for the past few months - and I haven't found there was a huge turnout, but I wondered if it was because of location? I know we have a few people up this way and a few your way, so if you would like, you can have a meeting at my house (near Truro) every few months so that maybe a different crowd can feel like it's not so far to travel. I don't think I will keep having them on a regular basis if others are going to have them too & I see that there are a couple of new ones starting now - I was only having them because there weren't any others in NS and I really wanted to meet some people going through the same thing I am

I would like to be able to go the meetings but I am like 4-5 hours away in Cape Breton. With winter coming along soon I would not drive all that way for a support group. As it is my surgery date is Dec. 7th.and will have to go for my check up in Jan. Maybe if there is a meeting around than I will be able to go. I am going to join the group on facebook. Maybe I will get to meet Angie on my way home from there.

I understand we're going to have people in all corners of the province, so hopefull once we get running, we'll be able to set up groups in more towns! We're arrange to have meetings at least 1/month or maybe more in between with informal meetings at a local Tim Hortons in the Bedford Sackville area. We really hope you can join us at some point, but the Face Book group is there to help you with any questions as well. We have 13 members now and they're at all different stages of this journey! We're all in this together to help one another!

I sent you a message if you want to discuss how we can help get a better organized group in your area (it could be because of location). Maybe a chapter of Owlss would work, I just know there are many towns and communities that will need this throughout the province, so hopefull we can really get this off the ground!!
I can try to work with organizing something up your way and come along for a couple meetings in between the ones down here.
Please join our Facebook group even if you can't attend the meetings in HRM, and say hello to some other members already on there. We're a very friendly bunch and would love to help each other reach those never ending goals!!!
