Just my word of advice...if you are having plastics please make sure they are a board certified plastic surgeon. Although some might have had an ok time with Dr A Macdonald, he is not a board certified plastic surgeron!

I had my plastics done by Dr Bendor Samuel at the landings. I wouldnt send my dog to him. I am now on a waiting list to see a surgeon at the hospital to fix what he did!! He left a huge outpouch of skin on one side of my incision line and did not do the mons lift he was suppose to. When i went to my post op visit he said the mons area was my fault because i must have gained weight and that i should stop eating things i wasnt suppose to. Very unprofessional and rude. He was willing to fix it though...for $5ooo more dolllars!!

I had my VBG in 1991 and the tummy tuck in 1992.  Both my surgeries were covered by MSI back then here in Nova Scotia at the old VG hospital.  Dr. MacDonald did both.

My Tummy Tuck was a full frontal.  I have scars from top rib to bikini line and from hip to hip.  Below my belly button was lyposuction so therefore no matter the weight gain, my belly is always flat in that area.  Above my waist has gained back some fat, but not too bad, considering my weight.  I had a 7 inch gall bladder scar that was removed with my TT as well.

The surgery was pretty sore at the time and I recovered fairly quick (only 4 days in hospital--normal procedure back then).  I recall many visits for fluid drainage.  That was 18 years ago, and to this day, due to nerve damage with the cauterization, my stomach surface is still numb and my ribs always itch!  But trust me, this is a small price to pay for reconstruction.  I don't regret a minute of my surgeries.

Hope you can find some answers to how you can go about having your TT.  Good luck!
