Someone Help please! Live in NS, Surgery covered if done in NB ??

Dr. Beausoleil is not accepting any more patients, Quebec won't look at MSI patients and Ontario is sending their patients to NY. Nothing out West that I can find less than 2-3 years on wait list. Nightmare! Have you had any luck whatsoever????

Keep trying Connie, that's all I cna say. I know this is a difficult journey. My family doctor is writing to MSI for me (Dr Bugden) requesting out-of-country surgery approval because of the status of RNY availability in Canada. I expect to be denied, but we're already planning our appeal! It's a long road, but ultimately worth the struggle. The "general rule," though, as a member posted earlier, is the 100+ pounds overweight before MSI will consider your case for approval. Failing that, self pay might be your only option. btw, here are no bariatric surgeries being done in Amherst. Dr MacDonald has retired.
