Topic: RE: I'm a newby
I am here in ABQ and had my gasrtiric sleeve in PV Mexico on June 30th. I am home as of Wednesday and very pleased so far. You may want to go to the gastric sleeve board. Lots of good people who were very helpful as I made my selection. I paid out of pocket as my insurance would not cover the sleeve.

I had my gastric sleeve on June 30th in PV Mexico. Does Abq have a support group. Any other Abq gastric sleeves on line?
Topic: RE: Lap-Band Surgeon in New Mexico?
When doing my research I was unable to find anyone. I went to Dallas to check out a program. However, found that the fills would be difficult to do. I finally choose a Gastric Sleeve. I had it done in PV Mexico on June 30th. I am 18 pounds down and was very pleased with the experience.
Topic: RE: C-Section & Skin Sagging?
I had a c-section and the doc went from my belly button down. I hate it, it has always reminded me of having a butt in the front and of course the one in the back. Now that I am almost at goal weight I haven't lost a lot of my weight from my stomach but more from every where else. My stomach is ugly saggy skin and it is gross...... but I don't think I could tolerate the pain of having a tummy tuck..
This is only what I am going through, you might have it a lot better... good luck..

Hi. I havent had my RNY surgery yet. I was just approved 2 weeks ago and im waiting to schedule my date with Del Sol.
I have 1 son who is now 16 months old. I had an emergency c-section with him because of preeclampsia. A few weeks ago I was telling my husband and my mom that if I had. had this surgery 3 years ago, before my c-section that my skin would probably be SO much better after the RNY. After my pregnancy my stomach skin got really lose. I guess there really isnt any way of knowing until you have the surgery and you start losing the weight. Also why dont you check out the Post-Op pregnancy forum and ask them. There are so many women in there and im sure they will have an answer for you! goodluck!

Topic: C-Section & Skin Sagging?
Hi,
I'm in the process of educating myself on Lap-Band surgery. I'm curious as to what others experienced when it comes to extra skin?
More specifically, anybody w/ c-sections? I've had 2 and just wonder if that makes things a little different?
What about skin saggin in general? I've noticed some have lost quite a lot of weight in even just a years time. Are you working out a lot to keep up with it?
Thanks for your insight & I apologize for the silly questions. :)

well, I filled out the online registration & they called me back. They said that I need to have a BMI of 40 or higher for my insurance to cover it. I think I'm at about 38.5. She did say to go to the dr & get definite numbers & once I'm at 40, she can call for the approval.
It's only because I'm so tall is my BMI 38. So looks like I'm gonna try to make sure I'm at 40 for my dr appt on Thurs! ...i hope this works for me. I'm sooo ready for this!

I am doing okay I am down 27lbs and am looking forward to my next fill on the 24th. I am not sure how it will go because the radiologist who does it is really new and I worry they will overfill me or something. My new surgeon will be Dr. Acosta in El Paso. If pres would have used Dr. Applebaum I would have chose him he has impressive stats and all his patients are happy with him. Let me know what you deceide to do.

Thank you for the info. I went on to my insurance website & found that the closets surgeons are in El Paso & Flagstaff.
Now, I have to figure out which one I'd like to go to.
I've heard great things about Dr. Applebaum, and really, El Paso is 45 min closer. But it's such a boring drive! I did see that SW flies to El Paso though for fairly cheap.
Hmmm...decisions, decisions.
Like I said, I'm just looking into all of this. I know that I'm interested in the Lap-Band & noticed that you chose that.
How are things going with it?
Thanks again!
