You will be in my prayers. Please post as soon as you feel up to it. Will it be Dr Lara or Dr. Acosta? Did you decide gastric bypass or lap band? I can't believe I have to make this decision. SCARY! My insurance is Lovelace Health Plan, I'm probably looking at a six month supervised diet. At this point I really don't mind, whatever it takes.

Thanks, I am so excited too...and alittle nervous, but I'm so happy to be moving on to this phase of my life. I actually have my pre-op consultation on Sept 3rd at Las Palmas at
10:30 am, and my surgery on the 4th. My insurance is Tricare, or Triwest so far out of pocket I have paid $62.00. My psych eval was $37.00 and $25.00 for my initial consult at Las Palmas. I talked to Tricare and they said that I should not have to pay more than $25.00 for the surgery and they will reimburse my hotel cost, I was pretty happy about that.

Superman, I don't have Presbyterian, sorry... Blue Cross Blue Shield for me. If you are interested in going to the Flagstaff area there are a couple of WONDERFUL surgeons there and they may accept Pres. Dr. Robert Burger in Flagstaff did my vertical sleeve 05-29-08 and I am doing great! He has an amazing assistant (Nancy Scott) in his office who will jump through hoops to help you with your insurance and all your travel needs. Just a thought, but if Flagstaff interest you at all then you might want to give Nancy a call. Good luck and keep us informed. By the way, I see your are from my ol' neck of the woods (I'm a Farmington gal, now living in ABQ). I'm heading that direction in a day or two so make sure it's not too hot, okay! ;)
