Valerie was an awesome person, she chewed my butt on several occasions when I told her I was not taking my vitamins or excercising like I should. She was the best mentor one could have in her corner. She didn't sugar coat anything. She also was a great support group leader of the Albuquerque New Body Beginnings WLS support group. Val, rest in peace you will always be alive in our Hearts.

Hi Everyone I sorry to be the one to tell you all that one of our old timers Valerie Clark died last night of pancreatitis. Her mom just called me to let me know. She said there would be some kind of memorial at the VA next week she thought. I don't know anything else. But her Mom wanted me to let you all know this group was important to her even when she had to travel so much and couldn't go to the meetings.
This is an email I received from a person from the Yahoo group called ABQNBB, if you want go to yahoo groups and search ABQNBB and sign up for the group and you can read all the emails about it.

This is shocking and sad news about Val. Is there any information you can share with us. I know of several people who will miss her dearly.

I usually lurk over at the DS forum. I came here after reading in a post from big Tone that Val "ladybug" had passed. Could you let me know anything you are comfortable telling me? She didn't post much on that forum but I remember her from a while back when she was a newer post op. There are a lot of us over there who are taken aback by this news. Thank you for whatever you feel comfortable sharing.
