Donna, I have Blue Cross Blue Shield as well.  I did not have to do the 6 month supervised weight loss, however, I provided five years of documentation to my doctor showing a weight problem and the monitoring of the weight problem.  I believe it is all on an individual bases and how persistant your doctor and you are with your insurance.  Good luck and keep us informed.

I've been reading several posts that say how good their doctor is and that it didnt take long before they were able to get their wls. But then i read others that say they have been waiting for several months.  Is this due to insurance problems?
I have/will have in January, Blue Cross Blue Shield.  do they require 6 months supervised weight loss?

Lisaanne, hang in there, girl, and please know that you will find wonderful support here on the NM board.  As for the support meetings, like Kelly, I have not been either but need to.  I had VSG in May, 2008 in Flagstaff, AZ.

I know this time of the year brings with it a lot more added stress so remember to take some time for yourself as you well deserve it.

Sorry to hear things aren't going very well.  I have not been to the support group meeting, but need to as well.  I think it's held at the Northside Presbyterian Family Practice, near I-25 and Osuna.  Look up New Body Beginnings on Yahoo, I'm pretty sure they have a website for days and times.  Good luck to you, hang in there.  Kelly
