The support group in Albuquerque meets every first and third Wednesday of the month at 5:30 - 7:00 p.m. at Presbyterian Northside.
There is also another support group that meets monthly at the Marriott Pyradmid. The next one is scheduled for September 17 at 6:00 p.m.
All are welcomed. I have been going for about 9 months now. Both meetings are extremely informative.

i dont mind the wait. just would like every thing to my sumitted to my insurance already. and to get a surgery date that would be nice as well. ill call monday .again and see whats happening since my case mangar was off today
no i havent been to a support group were and when do you guys have them it would be great to talk about this with people who are going through are already had the surgery.

Hi, I understand too. I had my surgery with Dr. Lara last Sept. I thought the pieces would not fall together fast enough. I started the process in March 08. I went to a seminar in June 08. My first appt with Dr. Lara in July and my surgery in Sept. I called Becky (Dr.Lara's nurse) every other day until I got everything done. EKG's, blood work, psych eval, faxed it all called my insurance, and one day Del Sol called and had a date!! I lost 40 lbs before my surgery and now I'm going slow but steady. Keep on calling and hang in there it will happen.

I'm sorry you are having problems. I hear Del Sol has quite a waiting list. Try to be patient - it wil happen. Dr. Lara is an awesome surgeon. He did my surgery in March, and I am ecstatic. I have had zero complications. Keep calling - that's what I did! :o)
BTW - I think I remember you. Weren't you at the last Abq support meeting at Pres? Your story sounds familiar.

just a little stressed with del sol. will i have every thing done. i did my 3 month weight mang. pysc eval and i have been cleared for surgery by my pcp. meet with doc Lara in april. so whats the problem. the problem is del sol wont sumit anything to my insurance. what the hick!!!!...its been a week and nothing. i keep calling them and nothing. am working with a case mangar and they wont call her are send her anything. and i belive my case mangar is only missing the request for surgery from dr.Lara. which del sol says that he hasnt filled out. dont you think he should had filled that letter after i met with him in april???? and the only reason my case mangar has most of my required info is becasue she had to get all my docters to fax it to her, cause Del sol wont send a damn thing. am sooooo stressed and ready to have my surgery already. i just needed to let out some steam...hopefully next week is better and all my stuff gets sent to the insurance. and finally get a surgery date...

Hello, I have started a support group here in LAs Cruces , we have had serval great guest speakers, including a lady who has has a company called Perfect Lines it is an awesome garment that provides support as you are losing weight and even after to tone up. She can explain more.
