Hi, This NM group isn't very active. I am responding to a support comment from August. I had a lap band placed july 2006 but had it removed and another put another won in may 2008. In March 2014 I had my band in march and now i am waiting and hoping to get the sleeve this month.
I'm fairly new to OH and I live near Albuquerque, NM. I'm trying to connect with others who have had or are going to be having WLS and was wondering if there's a support group in the area?
There are many people, members and non-members, that come to the OH community wanting assistance to have weight loss surgery. One of the challenges many people encounter is "The Medicaid Maze" so we wanted to provide information about the difficulties for those people and from two leading bariatric surgeons.
We welcome your experiences by leaving a comment at the end of the article.
Anyone in Albuquerque who has had the DS that can recommend a primary physician? Thanks so much

Hello, there is a new support group starting in Carlsbad, NM It will start November 11 at 6:30 at 2508 Union St. (Terri & Company hair salon) We will have meetings the 2nd Monday of every month at the same time and place.
Hey Steve,
Thanks for checking, but the anesthiesiologist wouldn't put me under because we have a malignant hyperthermia in our family and didn't have the equipment for the special anathesia, so the surgery got canceled for 2 weeks, then because I was off my baby aspirin a day, I had 2 small strokes, but no after effects, back to normal, but they said NO SURGERY, so I am trying to lose it the old fasioned way,
I been told no elective surgery, and do not stop taking the aspirin a day for any reason.
Good luck,
Darwin
Hey Darwin. My name is Steve Brown. I had VSG on 10-02-2013. Feeling pretty good. But wanted to join the conversation. How's it going with you?
