Topic: RE: Medicaid/SALUD!
Hi, I also have Salud, this is what I was told by them. WLS is not an exclusion from the healthplan so that means they will pay for it. They look at each case and approve case by case. My primary told me that she had another patient that kept getting denied over and over, but the patient didn't give up and kept at it and they finally approved it. I'm just started the process, I have to find a surgeon then have my doctor request the surgery then (I'm sure) go through all the red tape with Pres, but I'm not giving up, neither should you. Please let me know if you hear anymore about this, if you find a surgeon or if you have Pres and have success with them, I'd appreciate it.

Topic: RE: How do I begin?
Hello, My name is Melissa and I am also trying to move forward with WLS. I don't feel real supported by my PCP. She has been my PCP since the age of 14. She is overly cautious and seems to be stalling me. I am ready to change my life and don't want to be overweight any longer . I have researched the procedures and all that they entail. My PCP was impressed with my research, but remains apprehensive. How do I make it clear to her that this is what is right for me? HELP!

Topic: Referal success
Yea!!! First hurdle cleared! First hoop jumped through. I saw my Dr. this morning and she gave me the referal for Dr. Frezza. Well it has to go throught the referal Dept. at my insurance, but since this is only for the first consotation visit, Dr. Baab didn't think there would be any difficulty. She listened very well to all my concerns and was very receptive. I think that when I talked to her the first time about WLS and she suggested Merdia I think it was a test of sorts to see if I really was serious. If I came back to her a second time about it then she knew I wasn't doing this on a whim. She said she has referred others to Frezza and is very comfortable with him. So hurray I can breath a little easier for a while. Thanks to everyone for all the advice. Colleen

Topic: PLEASE SUPPORT MISS CAROLYN....
Miss Carolyn is a lovely 71 year old lady from Forest, MS, who has been attempting to have WLS, but is hearing now that due to medical conditions and age, it may not be a possiblity for her. She is very discouraged and upset. She does not have a computer and will not be able to respond, but I wanted her to know that people from all over the country were praying for her. Please go by her page and give her some love and support. I will print it out and get it to her. Thank you so much! And please remember her in your prayers. Thanks a bazillion.
