WOWZER! That is amazingly fast! Whew, must seem like a whirlwind for you! My surgeon's office was pretty amazed at my timeline (VERY first PCP visit 8/23, surgeon consult on 9/1, surgery 11/15) You must be a go getter like I am! I have no doubt you are gonna do great!

My surgery date is 9/8/05, I am SO EXCITED, who would of thought that this would go so quickly. I saw my surgeon on 7/6/05 for my initial consult and on 9/8/05 I will be having my surgery, so the entire process for me took 2 months from start to finish. Praise the Lord.

I recently learned a lot about what ObesityHelp is doing by speaking with Dr. Ganz, who is on OH staff, doing events and chapters around the country. I think all of us who have ever had our lives impacted by the support and help from ObesityHelp should send in a donation to them to help with all the efforts they have always been making and continue to make, including a big push on advocacy for us presently.

Who has not heard about the Walk From Obesity??

This is an amazing cause to help educate, support, and research obesity. We can make a difference. Not only that, but it gets us active. Now for those who still can't walk far, it's not about the distance you walk, it's about gathering for a good cause and supporting one another.
Just over a year ago I would have never done something like this. I'm going to be working with the group in Columbia, Sc. There are 70 walks all over the US and OH needs members who would be interested in representing us in these walks. Some slots are already filled, but if you would be interested in volunteering your time please email me [email protected]
Anyone else, I hope you will join us in walking for a good cause. To be in the walk is $25, you get a t-shirt, and fellowship. What else can you ask for, so I challenge you to sign up today in your area.
Ps. It doesn't matter what city you decide to walk in, we are ALL walking together on September 24th.

Topic: bug in the works
I was getting all ready for my big trip to Lubbock on the 10th BUT due to my health problems an eight hour trip seems excessive, so I called my case manager with medicaid and begged her to see if there was any way i could go to El Paso instead a week later i got the news the hospital in El Paso has applied to be a provider and the process of approval has begun, so I decided to skip the Lubbock trip and will wait on the approval process my church is praying for a speedy approval and i will keep everyone here informed yay!

I just got off the phone with United Healthcare and I was told by two different people that I was approved and my letter went out on 8/2/05. I was really frustrated last week when I called United Healthcare and they still said that they did not have the paperwork, so the lady on the phone in Care Coordination said if I knew what procedure, what hospital, the surgeons information etc. that she could open up the case number and send it for review. With a little hesitation I gave her the information, I just really did not want to step on anyones toes, but I felt if I did not take control of my own self then who would so I gave them the information on 7/29/05 and on 8/2/05 the approval letter went out to me. I am SOOOOOOOOO EXCITED....
