Topic: RE: Question
I could eat about 8 ounces at that point..but it really depends on what it is..I can eat alot more salad, soup, etc. than I can meat or dense items like that. At a year out there are some days I can eat 10-12 ounces of lighter fare..like I can eat the 1/2 oriental chicken salad at Applebees. But I could only eat say 4-6 ounces of meat. So I think it depends. Hope that helps. Roseanna

I wish I could help but I have a band....perhaps you could go to the RNY board? Perhaps better would be just to call your surgeon? You're not that far out and your follow up care should include some nutrionalist support and guidelines.....good luck! AnnMarie

Topic: RE: Did you have surgery outside the US?
I am getting ready to have Surgery Friday Lapband in Tijuana BC at the Betancourt Medical Center. Have had any feed back. Of course it is because I have no coverage for this procedure.

Topic: RE: I HAVE A DATE
Wow Allison, you have been one of the fortunate ones whose process went quickly! Good for you! I fought with CIGNA for a year with appeals and was getting ready to hire an attorney when we got word that we were going to have a second choice on insurance carriers. We ended up with United HealthCare who okayed my surgery in 2 weeks from the time of submittal, and it was full speed ahead from there! There are so many who fight long struggles to get approved and my heart truly goes out to them. I am so grateful for this life saving surgery and that my insurance came through-I still have my major personal areas I am working on with a therapist before my "honeymoon" is over (and probably after for support along with the support groups I attend regularily when my depression is not winning out and OH of course). I have a long way to go, and it is a lot of work, but it's working unlike the gazillion diets I've been on throughout my life and I'm determined to get healthy. I truly recognize this as a life long change-what a wonderful tool this surgery is! I am so happy for you and know how excited you are. May you have a very successful surgery and quick and easy recovery and be sure and keep us updated. Congratulations to you!!! I wish you all the best! Robbie
